Stewart/Hyder
We're planning to drive down the Cassiar this October. Never been to Hyder before. Are there any 'must see/must do' items to put on my list? (Other than bears?) Thanks, Bob

It is a very pretty drive with glaciers and waterfalls cascading down the mountains. If you go out past the bear viewing station it turns into a rough gravel road, but Salmon Glacier is quite nice and is right along the road and you can look down on it. We did not go back this year to the glacier, but did go back to the bear viewing. Saw more black bear on the way to and from than we saw at the viewing platform. Did see one black and one grizzly at the platform. We leave the 5th wheel at Mezidian Lake. I never spell it right but easy to find on the map on the Cassiar Hwy and drive back to Hyder. A nice place to park right on the lake.
