Reason being that the RCMP wouldn't drive through Hyder ( USA) to get to that part of BC so they didn't have to worry about the Cops breaking up the parties, kids eh?

Sounds like pretty smart kids to me.
Back in the day we would go to a buddy's remote barn and lock the gate once everyone was inside. Kept the local police out and the drunks inside the fence. Still didn't keep one guy from slamming a tree while head into back to the road! - SideHillSoupExplorerSince your going to have a 4x4 on this trip make sure you past the Big Missouri mine to where it's dam used to be. My wife took me up there ( guided me) to the lake site where the dam used to be located. You can still see parts of the cement walls of the dam and a small wooden structure, at least it was still there our last trip up for the Stewart Reunion a few years back.
