Suggestions for Routing Calgary, AB to St. Mary, MT

You will likely need reservations in/around St Mary. We stayed at the KOA there. Nothing fantastic except the scenery (which is a big wow.) :) Comfortable enough, especially for a few days. The CG inside the park has no hookups & a bit better atmosphere.
