We, too, did the Labrador trip in a 24 foot class C.
We went in the same direction as you did and quickly figured out how to drive the gravel road. At first, there was a LOT of noise going on in the camper while I ran around and tried to make it a bit more quiet from all the jarring.
We are still finding dust in places:B
A plus was that there was more of it paved than we thought there would be.
The unpaved part of the quebec part of the journey was pretty rough with LOTS of ups and downs. This was end of June. In fact, hubby and I both said that if we had started on that part first, we may have turned around.
Fortunately for us, with some dumb luck we managed to avoid having any of those fast moving trucks behind us on the quebec 389 (with not many places to pull over). We did see them moving FAST coming in the opposite direction and really didn't want them behind us. We overnighted at Manic 5 rest area and I woke hubby at 4 am and gave him a great opportunity to beat any trucks out of there. There were several WIDE LOADS that were going to be bearing down on us if we didn't make it out of there quickly and a fair amount of other tractor trailers. We made it to Baie Comeau with just a couple of cars/pick ups passing us on the way and no big trucks bearing down on us.
Saw quite a few bears along the road and no moose.
Labrador had some amazing scenery and we are so glad we did it.
We had intended to do the sat phone but just never picked one up...pretty careless I think but hey it was going to be an adventure.
A neat trip along with Newfoundland...going back to newfoundland in 2015.
