trip from North Florida to Niagara Falls

We're in the planning stages of a trip from North Florida to Niagara Falls this coming July, 2021. Want to hit Assateague Seashore, Washington DC, maybe Hershey, PA and Damascus, VA on the trip. First time going this long of a distance, and there will be two families (1 in 27 foot travel trailer, 1 in 20 foot). Any advice on hours per day to travel, what routes to avoid, must see spots (or should we forgo any of the above)? We're looking at 14-15 days. Newbies, so THANK YOU!
  • Arround the falls we stayed at 4 mile creak state park, nice viwes if on the water.
  • Not sure on hours to travel per day, that depends on tv / fuel and how many people bathroom breaks. Lol. The more people the more stops the slower you go. Not sure about dc, but dont travel there during rush hours, hit it early or late for travel. Hersey is nice and worth a day or 2 with kids. Not sure that the hersey campground is worth it now. During covid, they dont have transport, or early hours for guests , or the extra hours the day before. Check to be sure as that was last summer. Other options, depending on kid age is six flags darrian lake by niagra falls, but who knows if they will be open ( covid). Niagra falls is nice and nice camp grounds up that way. Its busy , so sightsee early, and again, covid for the boarder. So you may not be able to go into canada. I will say, it may be better to hold off on this untill you can atually do everything, or find another end destination. The us does have some good sightseeing at the falls, but make sure your good with just the us side. You can do a maids of the mist and dalls walk and the park is big, the food around there is bad and overpriced. So bring your own or eat away from the park, you'll thank me later.
  • Agreed, but 6 of the 8 of us have already been, so we'd be doing a brief stop there for the highlights for those 2.
