the Biltmore House in Asheville is great but expensive. I would still go if you haven't been. If you want to take the Natchez Trace Parkway, go I-40. A good stop we like is Spring Lake RV Resort in Crossville TN. Then east of Nashville, Seven Points Corps of Eng Campground on Percy Priest Lake. (W-E only). Take the 440 loop south around Nashville. Take exit 1 (Hwy 70S) to Hwy 101 to the Natchez Trace entrance. 17 miles south of Tupelo MS at exit 243 off the trace is Davis Lake Campground (W-E only). Not many good campgrounds in Vicksburg. The best option we've found is the Ameristar Casino Campground. Just south of Vicksburg is Grand Gulf Military Park and Campground. At Natchez, we like River View RV Park in Vidalia LA (just across the river from Natchez). Be sure to drive through the cemetery. Beautiful. They do have night walking tours of the cemetery. If you go to New Orleans area be sure to visit the Tabasco Factory at Avery Island LA. We stay at Bayou Segnette State Park (W-E) south of New Orleans or stay at Lakeside RV Park in Livingston LA off I-12 and drive into New Orleans. All the campgrounds with water and electric do have dump stations. Another park we found that we loved is Old Federal Campground northeast of Atlanta. Didn't like the Atlanta traffic tho.
