Trip suggestions

Finally planning our first class a trip with car on dolly. Want to go to travel through Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and back to Florida. Looking to see attractions like "the Gauntlet", some great scenery, and try to stay on roads that aren't to challenging for a 32 with a car on dolly. We have tentative plans to go to Valdosta, then Blairsville, Nashville, Georgetown Kentucky, Gatlinburg, Piedmont SC, Hilton Head, St Augustine, FL, then home.
Anyone made a similar trip? Things to do, places to stay, things not to do, roads to avoid, places not to stay, and anything else that can keep newbies out of trouble and have fun.
Thank you.
Larry
  • Not far from Beaufort and Hilton Head is SC's most popular state park, Hunting Island, right on the ocean and complete with a lighthouse you can climb. Sites are reservable and some are right by the beach.
  • Not knowing your specific interests, I'd suggest looking under the tourism sites of each state and see what each has to offer that grabs your interests. The cities your route goes through offer many worthwhile stops.
