TT friendly gas stations LA to morro bay

Hi. Taking rig up 101 to morro bay next week from LA. From Buelton on I start thinking about gas. Any big-ish gas stations on the way up that folks like.

There is a big Walmart halfway up - I'm gong to look there. any advice.?

Thankyou

  • When planning a trip I know about how many miles I can go before it is time for fuel. I have found that Google map is great I find the area that is where I need to fuel up do a search in map for service stations find some that are in the area and then do a satellite view and a street view. After finding the station that I will want to use plug the address into the GPS.
To me that is part of the fun of planning a trip.
    Street view
  • Have towed on that route several times from Morro Bay south. Depending on your starting point and route there are several options. If taking Hwy 1 to 101 in Oxnard there are few stations on 1 after Zuma beach until you get to Oxnard.

If taking Hwy 5 to 126 to 101 there are two stations at the stop light at Santa Paula, one on each side of 126 at the traffic light.

Buellton at 101 and 246 as stated before is easy on and off with gas stations on both sides of the freeway.

Santa Maria at Betteravia there is a truck stop on the north east corner.

Getting to Morro Bay via Los Osos Valley Rd. takes you past several gas stations but none are RV friendly more a product of traffic than anything else.

Taking the Hwy 1 offramp to Morro Bay/Hwy 1 in San Luis is not too bad depending on your comfort level with traffic. Taking the California blvd exit bypasses the Santa Rosa street traffic. This works best as long as Cal Poly is not in session. Right turn off the ramp, left at the stoplight at Foothill, then right again at the stop light to Hwy. 1.

    Safe trip.
  • Most gas stations are do-able. Esp the ones a little outta town. Since there's no
Flying Js or pilots in this route I'd rather do my homework
a wee bit. I've got into the habit of googling the route map.
That way I can see street views of gas stations n make a note of yea or nay
  • In general, I have noticed that many of the gas stations located out of town, away from the urban areas, and just off the freeways with their big signs are laid out a bit better than the older urban stations - in California. Generally speaking.

In Santa Maria at Bettervia east of 101 there is a Chevron with lots of room

    Have fun
