The southern entrance is hwy 198 and has a length limit due to switchbacks but most likely applies to trailer type rv's. The northern entrance is hwy 180 and it has no such length limit. It would depend on her confidence level in driving a bigger vehicle. As a first timer, driving a class c on winding road will be intimidating. If she decides to go, Lodgepole campground is a nice one. The Kings river runs along the campground and there are nearby hikes.
