Any one had a DP up there? Don't want to find I can't make the hill half way up!
A class A gasser in our group made it. The key is to get a bit of a run at the first part of the hill. Arturo will show you where. I had no issue towing my 25 ft trailer up with my diesel Pickup, also a class C gasser made it no problem. The widening of the road helped considerably.
Going through the town, there is a pink building on your left just at the Y-intersection. Be careful of its balcony. There is plenty of room, but you want to be aware of it. There is also one low hanging wire about 2/3 of the way through. I snagged it with my test pole on my rear ladder which is set to 13 ft 3 inches. The wire has to be at about 12 ft 8 inches. Arturo will help you lift it if needed. There is one section of divided road after the town that you have to go down the right hand side on your way out due to low trees on the left hand side.
BTW he will give you a few days free stay. Phone him ahead of time and arrange to meet on the side of the road at N 19.921313 W 101.142951 Lots of parking there.
There will be a caravan (English) in there Feb 9-11. They will be doing a tour of the Monarchs on 1 of those 2 days by bus. If you give them enough warning you could probably pay and go along if you have never been there and they have room. The guy to contact is Gabriel Romero. Email is caravanasmexico@live.com.mx if you want to enquire.
