Recently repaved. Excellent condition. A few hills but nothing scary. Be careful driving through Beatty, Goldfield, and Tonopah. Infamous speed traps. Best fuel prices are in Amargosa Valley on East side of highway (Area 51 Alien Travel Center) with red light feature in the rear! As you leave there going North, scope out the big sand dune on the West side of the road. Beatty has a big candy store on West side of road on the North end of town worth a stop. Rhyolite ghost town just a couple miles to the West. Death Valley also close. We prefer to stay at Stovepipe Wells at the private campground for the full hookups although this is NOT the time of year to be going there. Scotty's Castle has not fully reopened yet since the flood, anyway. Two cool museums in Tonopah if you have time for an extra day. Tonopah Station Casino has a small RV park in the rear with some pull-thru spots. Turn on the road on the North end of the building. Has a Scolari's supermarket alongside. If you carry 4 wheelers, Mina has an RV park that caters to them. As you approach Hawthorn, there is a truck route that will allow you to dodge most of the downtown (another speed trap city). Have fun!
