And while you are driving through the construction zone, keep a good distance between yourself and the vehicle ahead of you, so that any gravel they eject has a chance to hit the ground before it hits your windshield and leaves a nice big round divot in your windshield.
Don't ask how I learned this valuable lesson.
As long as I own my old truck and its blemished windshield, I'll always remember the rural highways of Nevada. (Fortunately, the damage is off to the side and did not result in a crack. It happened several years ago.)
