VA rt 822 to Goose Point Park on Phillpott lake

This mountain goat road runs about 5 miles to the CG off of VA 57. There is no other access to the CG.
I guess they never heard of switchbacks. Luckily we drove up in the car to check it out for something to do during the Covid.
Phillpott is a lovely COE lake and worth the drive provided you don't have a big heavy 5er. I'm thinking 26 ft TT or smaller.

    LOL...I like the description mountain goat road. When we visit my hometown, Bassett, Va, that is where we stay. It does have a beautiful view. The last time we were there they lock the gate at 10PM and there is no getting in after that. However, the road is kinda of scary after dark due to the wildlife. BTW...that is the only campground I have ever had anything stolen, guess they liked my aluminum table more than we did.
