Virginia to Galveston, TX...questions about I12 and I10

Will be doing a 3 1/2 week trip from VA down to Galveston TX to visit family (and then north to the Midwest and back through Tennessee). I have driven all the roads before, except I10 and I12 across ...

We just did I-10 and I-12 from the Florida panhandle to Breaux Bridge LA. There was a rough patch of I-12 around Baton Rogue, but the rest was pretty nice until Breaux Bridge. We're headed for the Bolivar next week, I'll repost the conditions from here to there after that.

Make sure you have plenty of fuel before leaving Baton Rouge. I-10 west of that is basically an 18 mile long bridge with a narrow break-down lane.
