Virginia Zoo

I will be visiting my granddaughter who works at the Virginia Zoo. What would be the best route with my motorhome and towed? What, if any, are the restrictions on the Hampton Roads bridge/tunnel on I64 and is there a toll? Any suggestions for an alternate route to the zoo in Norfolk would be appreciated. I will be coming from I95.

Also, any recommendation for a campground within half hour or so?

    Thanks for the info. Was concerned about traffic in and out of the tunnel, especially with the motorhome. Will be staying outside of town in a cg and take the towed into the zoo.

    If you are bringing the Toad, I'd suggest staying at Newport News park or one of the many campgrounds in that area. Its about 15 miles before you get to the HR Bridge Tunnel and will avoid getting into that mess with the class A. Using the toad for the visits to see DGD would be easier than fighting Norfolk traffic.
    No toll but you are supposed to have Propane off.
