Glad you are OK Moiseh......
Here's a sort of other the side of the coin story. We sometimes stay at Roca Azul at the west end of Chapala. An acquaintance there was feeling poorly. Went to doc in Jocotepec. Doc said go quickly to Guadalajara. Doc there said stent. Friend said fly back to US? Doc said if you do you will die on the plane. Had procedure in Guad. Doc said $10k - 'pay me when you can'. Friend back in US with paperwork from Doc in Guad. Insurance said in US that would cost $120K - wrote a check to pay doc in Guad. Friend said hadn't felt better in years. We have heard similar stories over the years. Depends on where you are - how critical the need - and what kind of care is available. There are plenty of very good docs in Mexico and costs are much less than points north. We are always at some kind of risk or another. Don't give in to fear. Living in fear is not living.
