Hey, Moisheh - I know about CIMA. They are not only private, but THE most expensive in town and likely the most expensive hospital chain in Mexico. Getting stuck with the US-size bill (if something goes wrong with insurance, for one or another reason) - would be a disaster. That's why I asked about alternative places.
Iguana07:
$30 for outpatient trauma treatment including X-ray is a public hospital rate. This usually comes with peeling walls, dirty bed sheets etc. In a big city their quality is, I would say, "acceptable" (not "very good"). In a smaller town - don't expect them to have full-scale diagnostics, even ECG might not work. Btw, gringos living there semi-permanently can easily get a temporary or permanent residence and then they don't pay even those $30. Subsidized system, similar to Canada, only on lower level. Same long wait to see a professional or get some surgery that is not considered acute, even when you're in constant pain or may suddenly die, like heart problems or joints.
