Whitehorse Hi Country RV Park

we also stayed there on our current trip. nice stay. two nites the first visit and one nite the second. only thing. on the second trip they changed their wifi setup. first time wifi was good, no problems. second visit you got only 1/2 hour free then you paid for it. so we went to McDonalds and had all the time I wanted FREE. the rest of our visits were ok. good showers and reasonable laundry prices.

People in the North are helpful. And businesses often make extra effort to satisfy their customers because we're a small place (only 37,000 total population in all of Yukon) so word of mouth is important to a business.

If a business isn't reasonable, word spreads quickly. If they go out of their way to provide customer service, then that word also spreads quickly.

On our last tourist trip to Yukon (in 2010 before we moved here) our dog became ill and we had stay in Whitehorse for several days while tests were run. The staff at the HiCountry RV park were helpful and understanding. Unfortunately, our dog was seriously ill and did not recover despite us making it to a specialist in Vancouver for her treatment.

Nice park but NOT big rig friendly.

We stayed at Hi Country when we were in Whitehorse making repairs too. We had two flat tires on the rear of our truck on the TOTW Highway, but managed to make it to Whitehorse on some multiple-plugged tires. Bought new Goodyears at Yukon's only Walmart and parts to repair a broken trailer slide mechanism at Home Hardware. The Home Hardware people even custom cut some scrap 1"x 4" at no charge for the cradle I designed for the slide motor. Can't say enough good things about the help we got in the Yukon, including Sue Thomas's posts on this forum.

However, I'm certainly glad it only took us 4 days for our repairs and sightseeing and not a month!

Been there a few times too. Must say that up north businesses are very helpful when somebody comes to them with a breakdown of some sort. Not to say that good service is not available in the lower 48 but up north, Canada, they have been exceptional.

We agree. We have stayed there at least three times and cannot say enough good things about that park. Welcome to the forum. What's the story behind the engine replacement?
