Wickenberg to Cottonwood...

Is there a route for a 40ft motorhome from Wickenberg to Cottonwood?
Looks like 60 to 74 to 15? We've been on 89 to Prescott in the car and it didn't seem big rv friendly (tight turns - steep grades)
We'd like to avoid the entire Phoenix area...
  • X2 for 74 to I-17 to 260 to Cottonwood. 89 to Prescott is NOT RV friendly. Neither is 89A thru Jerome.

Once in Cottonwood rent a car and take a short drive to Jerome for an afternoon. Very interesting old mining town resurrected as a fun town. Built on the side of a mountain its streets are tiered one above the other. There are long flights of stairs to walk between each street level or can drive. Lots of unique shops, wineries and restaurants.

Old town Cottonwood is also fun with pubs, restaurants and several wineries.

If Wickenberg and/or Cottonwood didn't give you enough clue then you more than likely wouldn't know about the route either

And thus have no business reading the thread in the first place! :(

Fortunately this board lets you hover over a subject line and read the whole text. So I don't have to open the thread to see what is about.

I will admit that this subject line is better than the old 'Best route please'.

Really. Who bothers reading all the way to Phoenix?
  • An easy drive from Wickenburg is 74 toward Cave Creek and north on I-17.

Another route we enjoyed with our 40' motorhome is taking 89 to Congress to Yarnell and at Kirkland Jct. picking up Skull Valley road into Prescott. This avoids the 'big' hill and it's a pretty drive.

Once you get to Prescott take 69 to Dewey and pick up 169 which will bring you out to I-17 near Camp Verde. Then 260 into Cottonwood. It's another easy route.

I drove down the hill from Prescott on 89, ONCE.

Not RV friendly is an understatement. No way I'd try to pull on it, climbing or descending.
