The original poster is refering to hurricanes in the West coast of Mexico, that is the Pacific coast the hurricanes normally go North West out towards Hawaii, some do veer and either hug the coast or hit the Baja peninsula or do go inland, so far all depressions have gone out to sea, we have until November when the season ends.
The Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico is a direrent story, I hope every one in the Eastern coast of the USA heeds the warnings and evacuation advisories, according to the hurricane center there might be areas with 9 foot water due to rivers and creaks being pushed inland together with the storm surge, at the moment the front extends 300 miles from the center, this is a big one predicted to be a category 5 by the time it makes land fall.
Heed the warnings seek high ground and be safe
