- gboppExplorerThis isn't much help but, about three weeks ago I traveled that road from Dayton to Washington Court House. It was good road, smooth sailing all the way.
Obviously in the Dayton area it was a little congested, but not bad. - DutchmenSportExplorerGood road all the way. Drove it with the trailer from Indiana to South Carolina March 2017. Driven it several times over the years.
- We normally do it a couple times a year from Indiana to Virginia. It is my favorite way to go. Charleston is a little congested, but we get through it easily with our 40' towing a Flex. Part of it in Ohio runs along the river and they have improved that road since we first started driving it. Part of it is now 4 lane divided. The part along the river is still just two lane and it is well traveled by semis, but it's not a problem.
Dale - blknomadExplorerMany thanks for the info. Are there any good overnight stops along the way? Somewhere around Chillicothe?
- mikep60ExplorerGood road to travel, we go that way to Michigan from Virginia.

There is a very nice fairgrounds at Chillicothe. We have camped there in the past. In looking at their website, it says no dogs in the campground, not uncommon rule during the fair. We had 2 dogs and nothing was ever said. We were not in the campground as they were doing some work there. We were just in another area and could park anywhere we found a 50A plug. I wonder if the no dogs rule was specifically during the fair. . . and during the fair there is no public camping. Worth a phone call. It was very easy in/out. And very safe/secure.
Dale- Chase_WVExplorerRoad is good except for 14 miles where it is 2 lanes but a new 4 lanes is currently being built. No stop lights on the entire stretch. 55 mph on the 2 lane and 65 mph on the 4 lane in WV
- Rangerman40ExplorerAs mentioned above it's an easy drive minus the section that is 2 lanes.... even that isn't really bad I just don't care for going highway speeds with a 15k lb fifth wheel behind me and semis passing me going the opposite direction.
- Chase_WVExplorerDon't worry about the speeds on the two lane section. Chances are you will get behind a semi only going 50-55 mph. The two lane stretch is very straight and flat. Check wv511.org before to make sure there are no incidents on the road.
