Quartzsite is a fun, quirky place but it is spread put. The big tent can accommodate scooters but I would avoid the first two days of the Big Tent event due to extremely high foot traffic inside. After that, early morning or late afternoon are best lower traffic times.
Vendors for assorted "antiques" and rocks are abound all around town. Across Kuhn St. from the big tent event there are MANY vendors in rows selling things you never knew you needed. All of this including inside the big tent are on mostly level, hard packed desert with the big tent putting down carpet inside. Just be sure your scooter can easily travel aver slightly uneven terrain. Be sure to check out the QIA Pow Wow around the same time as the Big Tent (maybe just before??) for another fun browsing opportunity - inside and outside vendors, lots of rocks, jewelry and arts and crafts (Not Native related at all......)
Quartzsite is a unique experience. Only two small grocery stores/dollar stores in town so I suggest you stock up on most of what you need in advance. Blythe CA 20 miles away is the closest big box grocery Store(Albertsons).
If you plan to stay in a park, get a reservation NOW!! All parks are basically full during the big tent event and usually for all of January. PM me with any questions - we boondocked for 9 years there going elsewhere last season. Enjoy Quirky Quartzsite!
FYI - you can pull into a large parking lot behind the big tent(by the yellow elephant water storage tanks) and drop her off closet to the tent entrance or find parking there if lucky/early enough.
