I have a friend whose horse seems to be an accurate weather forecaster. Last year, towards the end of October, her horse had already grown a thick coat. I laughed at her when she told me this as October of last year was unseasonably warm here. I wasn't laughing a couple of months later as we were going through our coldest winter in decades.......The horse has a thick coat already. :(
This IS the truest way to tell what the winter season will bring.
I had all my horses at home on my property. If you have horses that are allowed to be outside (NOT stalled up in a boarding facility),
Yes you CAN tell what the winter is going to bring each and every year.
By WHEN their winter coat comes in and how thick.
Also up North when the geese start swarming around and ultimately head south 'early'? I'm beating feet to the MH to pack it and get outta dodge asap!
Mother Nature......gotta love her she takes care of all her animals and is right every single time! :C
