Texas Bluebonnets forecast

Do any of you Texans have a forecast for the bluebonnet crop this year?
Interested in Hill Country area for next month.
  • A few dogwoods on the drive from Fairfield to Lake Tawakoni today. Went by the Richland-Chambers Dam, Athen and Canton.

    No bluebonnets!
  • Yesterday - Harlingen to Hallettsville via US-77
    Today - Hallettsville to Fairfield - US-77 - US-79 - I-45

Not a single bluebonnet in sight. Only a few redbuds starting to bloom.
  • Many years we enjoy them as we move from the RGV to the DFW area, which sometimes can take us four weeks or so of prime Bluebonnet season.

This year we make the move in four days starting Monday, if my truck gets fixed tomorrow.
  • General opinion seems to that the only result of the weather is that they may be a little delayed in blooming. I have a patch on the back of my lot and the plants still look good in spite of -4 F degrees.

    Bluebonnets
