A comment on John Pennekamp SP on Key Largo
If any one has reservations there and you are a canoe, kayak or paddleboard paddler, be forwarned that the normal crystal clear pristine canoe trails through the mangroves are not like they used to be thanks to hurricane Irma.
They are dark and cloudy and the normal aquarium like viewing is no longer to be had.
We snow bird in an adjoining park and utilize them to get to Largo sound and the Atlantic.
With that said, the Atlantic and out at the reef is still as good and as clear as ever.
Also Florida Bay is no longer clear.
Hopefully next season or with a little luck before this winter is over things will get back to normal.
