- livelylittlecamExplorerWe spent 6 days on MDI and did not go to Bar Harbor once. Not being critical of the town, but there was just so much else to do and see---and eat!
- ryegatevtExplorer IIGreat review of the Acadia area.! We are headed there for 10 days this fall! As for dining - we prefer the casual style. Lunt's and the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound on the right just before crossing the bridge to the Island have great lobster. Parking is tight for Trenton Bridge and Lunt's is open on Sundays. The Quietside Cafe in SW Harbor is a local favorite for lobster or crab rolls and Home made pies. Sawyers on the Seawall Road looks like an old drive-in diner but has good seafood and often has specials on lobster. The place doesn't look like much but is a fine place to stop. Further down the road in Bass Harbor is the Seafood Ketch. Lots of parking and a good menu. And I can't forget to include Mainely Meats BBQ and the Atlantic Brewing Company in Town Hill. Lots of fun with the funky crew at the BBQ, good food, and a tour of the brewery and the beer store right on the grounds. You'll notice I don't mention the many restaurants in the village of Bar Harbor. I'm sure they are fine, but we're not there to join the swarms of tourists and cruise liner passengers packing the streets and businesses...
- livelylittlecamExplorerWe hope you enjoyed a meal at Papa J's.....
Hope your weather was good at Moorings. We loved it there. - NY_RVerExplorerlivelylittlecampers, thanks for your info on Acadia and campgrounds. We are at the Moorings as I type, and will be heading out tomorrow. Posted a topic on best route back to the Hudson Valley, NY. Curious to see different route others took.
- livelylittlecamExplorerWe will have to try the upper deck, Loved Southwest Harbor!
- Steve_B_ExplorerI spent five nights at Blackwoods last week. I always go to The Upper Deck (new name I think) in Southwest Harbor. Had a very nice lunch there, great fried clams.
- livelylittlecamExplorerWe visited Camp Taylor over Memorial Day weekend and had a very nice time. Very large, pretty back in site kinda over near the pond.

Thanks weathershak! I do a lot of research before picking campgrounds. When you pull all of the reviews together from different websites I think you can make pretty educated guesses about what places will be good. Lots of awesome campgrounds out there!
BTW, I was born and raised not far from Camp Taylor. I still have family up there and consider the Taylor family part of my family. I miss Delaware Water gap. ;) - livelylittlecamExplorerThanks weathershak! I do a lot of research before picking campgrounds. - weathershakExplorerLove your blogs, and you have great taste in campgrounds. Camp Taylor CG and Bar Harbor KOA are #1 and 2 on my list :)
