The Adirondack Museum, The Wild Center, Lake Placid - boat trip around Mirror lake?, Hike one of the peaks depending on your abilities, The Olympic venues and museum (Where the US beat the Russians in 1980). Keep in mind the DEC campgrounds do not have any hookups at all. You can get potable water in the loops and they many have a dump station but there is no electric. Many of the DEC campgrounds have water sites where you can back right up to the water and use your kayaks from your own site. There are some private campgrounds that are more RVish with more ammenities. We like the DEC and privacy between sites and the quiet. You can check RVparkreviews for some ideas too.
