Anastasia SP

Quick question.

Looking to book a night or 2 at Anastasia early Feb 2016 on the way to Sebastian Inlet. Why does Anastasia show pretty much empty while Sebastian Inlet is next to impossible to get into? Is there something wrong with Anastasia?

Nothing is wrong with Anastasis, although many of their sites are relatively small. I imagine the biggest issue is the time of year. In early Feb., chances are very very good that Anastasia will be considerably colder/cooler than Sebastian. It's in northern Fl. and it gets cold up there.

And the CG is exposed without tree cover so I suppose it can get rather chilly by Florida measures anyway in February. There is usually a wind off the ocean. It's also too early for Florida campers to head to the beach and maybe a bit late for snow birds.

I haven't stayed there in a number of years, but it had plenty of tree cover when I was last there. :h
Actually the tree cover was one of the things that stood out in my mind - as in " a real camping experience". :B

As an example of temperature differences in Fl. I noticed in the last ,day or two, the morning temp out in either Pensacola or Panama City on the Gulf, the temp. was 29 degrees, while it was in the low 70s in Ft. Lauderdale.
  • That's a surprise, Anastasia is usually hard to get into. Nothing wrong with the park the CG is close to the beach and is pure sand but that's what a beach CG is like.
