There is nothing close to Annapolis so we were at Cherry hill ouside of DC the night before our visit. After a fun day we headed north and ended up at Merry Meadows on the MD/PA line.

What do you think of Merry Meadows? I'm not too far from there but have never been.

MM is a very nice park with lots of activites for adults and kids. Family oriented with nice amenities they run a tight ship which is nice (no motorcycles allowed in the park as one example). They were gearing up for the season which gets rolling with the Memorial day weekend. I would recommend reservations even though it is a large park, lots of seasonal rigs already in place.

My take on Morris Meadows is they are known for their rules and lots of them.
Lots of rules and lots of seasonals does not sound like my kind of place. Nevertheless I wanted to check them out but they have breed restrictions (more rules) which have kept me out.
I consider it their loss as there are plenty of other CG's willing to take my camping dollars

Yes the gate is kept closed but there is parking outside of it designated for check ins. They also have a few full hook up sites outside the gate for late arrivals with a $20 per night self pay set up. They do have lots of rules but nothing that offended us. The recent name change reflects new ownership, but still in the same family, reportedly 7th generation. :C

They run a tight ship all right. They sucked so bad they changed the name since we were there to get away from all the bad reviews on here and other places. They just make it very difficult to go there and spend money. I've never seen so many do this don't do that signs in my life. Unless they have changed it, the gate is outside the office parking and closed all the time. I waited a bit for them to open it, no response on the intercom so had to walk up and ask them to open the gate so I could get in to pay them. If we weren't there for an event nearby we would have left right then. It didn't get any better.

Thanks, DC. I think we'll give them a shot sometime. They're about 1/2 way between my place and where my family lives.

I second Davis pub in Eastport. Great food and when I used to go there all the time they knew you.

We used to kayak up to the public boat moor just across the road from there on paddling trips. Getting out of the boats was always tricky, but it was good for a lunch.
