Area/Road for dry camp close to Winter Park or MTB resort?

Iv got this brainiac idea to visit a Colorado ski resort for some downhill mountain bike MTB coasting. From what I'm reading, Winter park is a great resort with trails for all skill levels. The lifts would get us up above the tree line for some good views since I don't have 4x4.

Can someone recommend a area, or road, close to winter park where I might find some dispersed dry camping spots?

Im not committed to visiting winterpark, so if you have a different suggestion maybe around Keystone (A-basin pass) or another MTB ski resort, Im all ears because a secluded camping experience would be more important than a 5 star MTB resort.
