Arizona Spring Training

Looking for a campground for March perhaps 1 week (if its not too late)
Will be looking at games in Glendale, Goodyear ballpark and maybe
Maryville)

Would prefer one that's NOT thousands of spaces

Would prefer West or Central Phoenix

(NOT Apache Junction or east of Phoenix)

  • White Tanks Regional Park (Maricopa County) is an awesome place to stay. The hiking trails are nice, too.

    White Tanks Regional Park

No, it's not a 'resort' but it's similar to your state parks if that's the kind of camping you enjoy....nature.

1st. Dystany or 2nd. Cotton Lane RV Parks are both located in the Town of Goodyear and will meet all your needs but make your reservations this week. Both are centrally located to all the ball parks and shopping needs.
    Play Ball!!!!!!!
  • I understand why you are looking where you are, and what you want, but it doesn't exist. Maybe you should open a small, good RV park on the West side, because the "good" ones are 1000 spaces or more, and even the Regional Park (White Tank) is poor (in comparison). It must be because it is relatively undeveloped, or newly developed, and no one has done anything nice for RVers.

Recommend you make your reservations this week. Jan. Feb. March is the high season for all the "snow Birders who come down and stay 2 to 3 months. I make my reservations the day I check out in april for the next year.

Look in www.goodsamcamping.com. While many of the Large Resort RV parks (1000 or bigger) are in the area you want, there are some smaller and cheaper, you just have to search them out. Look in the Surprise or Goodyear cities areas.
  • My favorite phrase of the Spring is `Pitchers and Catchers report'.
