Beaver Lake in the NW part of the state and Lake Ouachita in the west central area are both big lakes for boating. Abundance of COE CG's around both lakes with good access. But from Beaver Lake, don't head east on US 62 into Eureka Springs. Take the jeep in as the town is really interesting, but the road is pretty curvy into town. From Beaver Lake, one can visit Crystal Bridges museum in Bentonville and Pea Ridge NMP. Both far exceeded my expectations. From around Lake Ouachita, one can visit Hot Springs and even venture as far as Little Rock on day trips. Lots of NFS lands to play in around Lake Ouachita.
