Ashville and an RV

We are planning to stop in Ashville, North Carolina, this summer on the way home from a vacation.

We have a 28 foot rv. We do not tow. Will we have trouble getting around Ashville?

Thanks for the input.

  • we were in Asheville last year and at time had a fifth wheel and a one ton dully. I found it interesting getting around, truck at times wider than the lanes.

If you want to see Asheville I would suggest the Gray Line Trolley. They leave from the Asheville Convention and Visitors building near downtown. Easy access to the building from I240, large parking lot with room to park the RV.

They offer hop-on/hop-off tours. Stops all over town and you get 2 days for the price of one. We found this way to see Asheville excellent.

If you want a good camp ground send me a PM.
  • should we assume you are traveling in a 28' driver? if so you should be fine. Interstates are pretty simple to navigate. Recommend Asheville KOA East as a home base. Within a mile is a large grocery store, post office, several restaurants, hardware, etc. Even a local brewery about 2 miles. A local hot dog place is right at campground.
