Please don't miss the Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg--we live in San Antonio and have been there several times and still not seen it all. Several very good RV parks in the area--also great food! Further west is Alpine that is near the McDonald Observatory--really great star parties--check out their website. Or maybe stay at Davis Mt State Park that is also near the Observatory. After all of that--still have a great time in Big Bend Nat. Park.
