Best access to Zion & Bryce with FHU for fiver?

We will be spending time with our tenting family in April. We will be coming from Moab. What suggestions do you have for a decent place to stay? How reasonable is it to stay in one park and commute to...

It will be about a 2.5 - 3 hour trip, one way, from Zion to Bryce.
At Zion we stayed at Zion river RV.... at Bryce we were at Ruby's
Both had FHU
