We're planning our first big camping trip and are leaning toward Myrtle Beach. We've heard great things about Pirateland. Any thoughts or suggestions vs. Lakewood or any others nearby?
Wouldn't mind hearing from any of you on your suggestions for other waterfront parks on the east coast.
Thanks!!
Hello,
You did not say what time of year you were planning your trip. It is true that these campgrounds are busier during the summer. It is not so busy that you will not enjoy your vacation, as some of the posters would have you think. You will not find seclusion at many ocean campgrounds in the summer!
I agree with the suggestions of carefully examining each campground to find what matches your interest. I may prefer one campground over the next because of a reason that is not important to you. To say all of the campgrounds in the Myrtle Beach area are the about the same, or equal is absolutely not true.
You mentioned Pirateland and Lakewood. I think either of those would be a great choice. Everyone has a favorite for one reason or another.
Let us know what you decide, and good luck!
