They mean no unmarried couples. You're headed for the Bible belt. The big three all offer Sunday Services. As far as I can remember, attendance isn't mandatory. :)

Actually it means no individual person alone. They want to restrict it to couples and families. This is really not a new requirement at many campgrounds, it existed over 40 years ago when I used to try to tent alone overnight at places before I was married.

It is generally not enforced but it gives the campground the prerogative of doing so to preempt unwanted partying. Chances are if someone is a single retired person traveling by themselves, it would not be an issue.

I actually just called them. They said that they'd let me stay during the off season (when they would cheerfully accept my money). But only after I told them I was retired. I've never stayed there, but have stayed next door at Ocean Lakes in season and they took my money without a fight. They didn't even ask the question. When you think about pirates.....
There's lots of places to troll for women in MB besides a campground.

Speaking of party crowds. We were there 2 weeks ago and it was a party every night. A big, noisy golf cart parade every night and extreme chaos! The park staff could barely keep the carts from crashing, forget about enforcing their "park rules". With around 700 sites (including the seasonal sites) it was way too big for us. Even the kids thought there were too many party people around.

Quite honestly, the " beach sites " were the worst as they are high traffic areas and front seats for all the "entertainment"

And it's actually one of the smaller, quieter campgrounds at Myrtle Beach.

Wow, front row already filled? July 4th week???? I guess I better call and get close to the front as I can. We really like PL.

Most any campground has that statement "somewhere" in their list of rules. Just to cover themselves if needed.
And I haven't heard of it bothering anyone else until now. Maybe others have.

So if a single woman wants to go to MB, Pirateland won't allow her to stay there because she might be a party monster? When you check in do the marriage police inspect your rig to see if you have an even number of people on board? Do you have to present a marriage certificate at the front desk? Are married people exempt from being party monsters? Does the fact that a single person that is single is working make them a wild partier risk?

Just kidding....

Since no one from PL has come forth with the exact reason, IMO I believe that it is to maximize their profits. A single is less likely to rent a golf cart or make large purchases at the cg grocery store or otherwise utilize the "extra$" as a family would.

I suspect it goes along the same lines as no motorcycles. Many campgrounds hold that rule which in turn, keeps the "bike week" crowds out.

Motorcycles, singles, whatever. Its their campground and their rules. They're obviously not hurting because of these rules so more power to them.
