Reader1, we also like to cruise around over around the homes (southside) as well. There area a few spots around some other ponds that are nice to go to. If you didn't go over in that area, you wouldn't know about them. The golf cart is a big help with the laundry. Also for going to the Sandy Mart (getting ice and other things) and the "Meet n Eat". We sometimes go there to get food or ice cream. It's also much easier to drive a golf cart with one hand and eat an ice cream than to ride a bike and do it. LOL
Some people have their golf carts registered with the state and can drive them out the gate. I've seen a couple of them cross Hwy 17. I think they are a bit crazy on that, but if you go out the south gate, you can stay on that side of the highway and access several things down there that way. You can also cut down to surfside beach where there are some restaurants. Our favorite there is Bubba's Fish Shack.
