Are you saying that your Passport, for streaming movies, can't be plugged directly into a USB port on your LED TV? What's the "WD TV Live" middle-man gizmo for?
I guess about the lowest-power way to watch movies would be a 128G iPad directly feeding a LED TV. The 128G iPad of course will not hold unlimited movies, but maybe enough to last for a 3-4 week RV trip. The iPad takes approximately "no power" to recharge for every ~10 hours of use, and some 26 inch LED TVs can run on close to 3-3.5 amps per hour at 12 volts.
