Phil, I'm not aware of any tv that allows video streaming through the usb port. The WD TV Live converts almost all video file formats into HDMI streaming video.
Your comment got me thinking.
My son uses a computer for his work that has a large widescreen, flatscreen monitor - looks to be either a 24 inch or 26 inch monitor. On the desk in front of the monitor is a small wireless keyboard.
Those two items ARE the computer. The computer's circuitry is built into the flatscreen monitor's case. With this setup he can just plug USB appliances into one of it's USB connectors on the side and, with the appropriate software in the computer - run whatever is connected to the USB port - just like with a laptop. I assume that he could do this using a large USB-powered hard drive loaded with movies and then play the movies, too ... I'll check with him on this.
If so, this seems like it would be the perfect setup for some RVs. If these "computer in a screen" setups could be bought with large enough screens, and if the screens were LED lit to keep power consumption down, then this single screen - along with wireless mice and wireless keyboards - could "do it all" for space saving simplicity in an RV environment.
I think his hardware is Apple ... but not sure yet.
