Note in the link I gave above that USB 3.1 planning includes more than doubling it to 10GBS.
I'm not touting "USB" per se. A hard drive full of HD movies with an HDMI output port would be fine with me, too. But than again I guess that's not a hard drive's job - to both store compressed movie data plus convert it to something else for output to a viewing device.
