Blanding Landing COE - Hanover IL

Anyone ever stay here? Is the narrow, curvy, winding road (not good for large RVs) in and out really as bad as some reviewers on rv parks reviews have indicated? We tow a CRV behind the MH and it sounds like passing a like vehicle might be dangerous. Looking for some real life experience. Thanks and happy traveling.

  • What James said. Not a bad campground, but oh those trains. The tracks are pretty much right next to the back row of sites. It's the main route along the Mississippi and they run all night. The sound of the train rolling isn't as bad as the fact that they cross a road on either end - so they always blow the horn. Thomson Causeway is a much better choice, the tracks are farther away so you don't hear them. Really nice sites, right on the river. Head down to the town of Fulton and check out the windmill. There's bike trail that you can pick up at the entrance to the campground as well.
  • Yes we have camped there. No we don't plan on doing it again. The trains are many and often sometimes going both direction.

Campground was okay if you can put up with the trains.

    Enjoy
  • I also read the reviews when we were in that area a couple of years ago. We stayed at Thompson Causeway COE a little farther south and loved it. We were right on the river.
