I may be mistaken, but I think I read somewhere that in California you could park/boondock in rest areas in California for periods no longer than 8-hours. It is my understanding "rest areas" are not only those that are developed. I see big rigs parked on on or off ramps in many locations. I have chatted with a couple of them, and they said they would get sleep there.
Can anyone confirm if this is true. Ideally point to the law/ordinance that addresses this.
