Boondocking in Quartzsite -- sssssh don't tell BLM!

We're at a 2 week stay area south of Quartzsite. Quite a few campers in ALL the camping areas......though not as many yet as I've seen in the past. Been here not yet 24 hours, and no one has come running to tell us to get out :) :) Talked to a gentleman at the store that is in the LTVA........and came in AFTER they closed it down :) :) You'd be taking a chance that they will come and fine you. Meanwhile, it's nice and warm here......and quiet :) :)

Why bother with the LTVA's, there is much BLM land around that area, that they would never find you. In the last 13 years we have never had a ranger come around our various campsites.
EXACTLY...... there are 55 essential BLM workers in Arizona....with 1.2 million acres. I'm not worried. :)

not exactly, they categorize what is essential and non essential. If it gets stamped essential it gets funded.

It's a game to them, thats how you got the whitehouse shut to tours for schoolchildren, and memorials shut to WWII vets, yet opened for immigration marches and of course the exchanges manned 100%.

Surely you can see how they are essential. :R

Very well said, it's all a bunch of Bravo Sierra!

Closing the LTVA's is as well!...makes me mad :M

  • Seems funny.

I have been to the BLM land many times, over they years, and never saw one BLM employee. A couple of volunteers, but never a paid ranger. Now we are not allowed to go back to the same place because there is not a paid BLM employee around? We already know that there should not be a need for an employee to show up and help anybody.

Why not leave things alone and let them be.

    Fred.
  • Here in Tucson area, last night's TV News included a story about what was closed. They did make the point BLM areas were closed. In fact they made a point that everything was closed. I do know they are ticketing around Tucson, even parking on the edge of Fed lands and going for a hike.
