- pnicholsExplorer IIAs usual good old Wikipedia knows about everything, including Nothing:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nothing,_AZ - homefor2ExplorerIf you think Why is small, you haven't seen Nothing. That's not bad grammar, there was a place on the map called Nothing Az. It was South of Wikiup. I went there 16 years ago just to see it. Population was 4. Met an interesting character that operated a store (if you could call it that) and I bought a bumper sticker that read "You haven't seen anything till you've seen Nothing - Population 4". Sadly Nothing is no more and as far as I know there is no one there. Sometimes you meet the most interesting characters in small places.
- Jerry_CampbellExplorerGunsite Wash just south of Why is one of our favorite camping spots. It's beautiful desert country with lots of birds and animals. I don't know why I'm telling you. Oops, don't go there. You won't like it.

Right....there!
Me all ready know "how"!!! Where and when??? But Why!!! - pnicholsExplorer IIHere's an official description of Why ... but I don't know why you would want go to Why ;) :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why,_AZ - More_To_SeeExplorerI should have anticipated these questions:
Ajo and Why are about 40 miles south of Gila Bend, Arizona, which is along I-8 about midway between Yuma and Tucson (on I-10).
Ajo you could call a really nice tiny village. Why is more of a dot on the map 10 miles south.
South of Why 4 miles is the entrance to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument right on the Border with Mexico which is 20 miles away.
Most RVers knowing about Ajo and Why probably do so because they have camped in Organ Pipe.
But through Organ Pipe and 60 miles south of the Border is the Snowbird haven of Puerto Penasco on the Gulf of California. Virtually everybody up here calls it "Rocky Point." Rumor has it there are a couple of pretty good paint shops down there willing to work with you.
About the only other thing to note is that from Why you can take route 86 over to Tucson. It's about 120 miles. The road is somewhat narrow and not having a lot of shoulder - but then it's also lightly traveled. And you go right past Old Tucson as you near that city.
OOOPs: it's spelled Why. Corrections made! - Francesca_KnowlExplorer

Right....there! - SuperchargedExplorerI have seen better looking junk yards then the camping area. I wouldn't leave my sheep there without a shepherd.
- mockturtleExplorer IIIsn't there a town nearby called Why Not?
