There are some options. About 8 miles north of Kanab is a BLM campground called Ponderosa Grove. I've not been there so I'd check it out. Its on a place we are thinking about stopping at next fall. If that doesn't work, are you going by Panguitch? There are some campgrounds around it in the Dixie National Forest.
Heading towards New Mexico there are some BLM campgrounds but they are pretty much off the beaten track. So it depends how much traveling you want to do for privacy.
