Actually there are several good CGs in the area. The ones closer to Boone, and easier to get to, are Honey Bear, and Flintlock. The KOA is a good bit out of town.
Also the KOA sites are hilly. I would go with Honey Bear, or Flintlock.
And the very best CG in the area is Raccoone Holler in Glendale Springs, Maybe 30 min up the Blue ridge Parkway from Boone.
You must call any of those before you show up. Esspecially Honey Bear, and Raccoone Holler
We have toured Flintlock, and like it a lot. But never got to stay. Just wondering how cool it gets there at night in the summer?
