Yes, yes, yes. Grocery shopping in Bay St. Louis, about 20 minutes (at 25mph speed limit). Claiborne Hill Supermarket has very nice produce and meat with a butcher. Your standard discount joints and a wally world are also available. !/4 mile to the west is Lakeshore road. About a mile north on that from the beach is a convenience store with propane and deli, and a liquor store. Also along the road are several dockside fresh seafood joints that sell shrimp and crabs.
When you travel east along the beach, there are several little seafood restaurants. Google the "Blind Tiger."
The one thing I disliked is that this is the only Ms. state park I have ever been to that didn't sell firewood on site. Fires are allowed, but it is bring or find your own.
April should be a good month as far as bugs. Farther into summer the no seeums appear and based on your level of tolerance can be a pain.
Have fun.
If you are in a travel trailer or fifth wheel 129 is an awesome sight.
Bigger equipment would be better off up front.
Oh, I love trains so this bothered me not one bit, but you will hear the mournful wail of train horns about 10 times a day.
