  • Had a nice boondock adventure at Bouse.
went there for camp bouse days.I camped at the BLM area 6 miles SE of Bouse

The nearest camp was about 1/4 mile away.Did some stargazing at the Orion nubula and saw two of Jupitors moons and the milky way was out.

they had a nice ceremony at the Monuments and had two WW 2 vets who were honored that trained at the camp .On Sunday a group of us went out to the camp site,25 miles NE of the town. This is the site of the Chapel

there were 12 Patton camps in the CAMA area from June 1943 to April 1944.
in the summer of 1943 145,000 men were trained in the Desert.
the Irony is that none of those trained at the Desert training centers went to north Africa.

In the last 15 years or so of Boondocking I have visited all 12 camps

One of the guys had this old "Cornbinder" he was restoring, all original with the 4 cyl.Its a 1963 ,52 years old.Made trip no problem,

The 14 day free camping areas SW of Bouse along Plamosa Rd are very much like Scadden Wash. Large natural gravel areas with trees and bushes in the washes. I'm there now.
