Camper Village at Cedar Point! UPDATE w/PICS

Very! Nice place. We arrived on Sun. And am very impressed with the campground. Check in was slow, but ok. I can tell you that Disney and Fort Wilderness could take a tip or 2 on how to make a campground look beautiful! The Fort is nice, but nothing like this place! If you've never been here you need to try and make it!

Whoa! That's a mighty bold statement there. :B
  • We've been there twice. We were impressed. If I had any disappointments it was that there are no fire pits. Otherwise even the noise added to the fun.
  • If you stay in the older section, be sure to choose a site that is away from the park entrance. The walk isn't much more, and the sites are less crowded. I prefer the outer ring, nobody cutting thru your site that way. The convenience and savings of staying at the resort is worth putting up with small sites and not being able to have a fire. We stay there every year, it's the only way to go!
  • We must have been in the other section because I thought the place was horrible. The sites in our section were extremely close together and were difficult to get into. We were also bummed to find out we were not allowed to roller-blade or bike ride in the park and that campfires (on the ground) were prohibited.

Having said all that, we would return because of the convenience, park admission discount (plus no parking fee), and being able to get in an hour early. We spent our time in the CG eating and sleeping and it was much cheaper (and cleaner) than a hotel room on property.

And you are referring to the Lighthouse Point section i'll bet....

Yes the Lighthouse section. We have a pullthrough, but all the sites are nice!

And yes the rollercoaster noise is present untill 10:30/11:00 P.M., but this is not where you come to boondock! LOL

    A. Great place. I'll get some pics posted soon.
  • One of my granddaughters was a lifeguard there last summer and she loved it.
  • Thanks for this post. I've heard of cedar point but never thought about camping.... Will def put this on my list of places to try.

    Thank you again.

  • I second that opinion! It is truly a resort, and we hated to leave. The noise from the park is present, but that just adds to the fun. Because really, isn't that why you are at Cedar Point to begin with?
We loved the manicured lawns and flowers, and the neat lampposts at every site. Check in, however, is VERY slow.
